Art 13: 3D Concepts | Wire Sculpture
For this project, I chose to recreate a phoenix into a wire sculpture because of the idea behind this mystical creature. We had to choose an object or an animal to sculpt but even though this creature is just a myth there are other animal characteristics that it presents.
Firstly, I created the body then the head so that I can see the size and how the head will be able to fit and attach to the body. After attaching them together with cross-hatching wires, I created the wings and a stand that will hold the figure up. I used two-three different wires to have detail and stable weight balance so that the body will have the most weight when it stands. It was a challenging process bending and shaping this sculpture with pliers but it was also fun way to learn more about sculpting.
